2014 Shell LiveWIRE Nigeria Programme 

The Shell Petroleum Development Company of Nigeria Limited (SPDC), operator of the NNPC/Shell/Total/Agip Joint Venture announces the commencement of the 2014 Shell LiveWIRE Nigeria Programme.

Shell LiveWIRE Nigeria is a youth enterprise development programme supported by The Shell Petroleum Development Company of Nigeria Limited (SPDC). The programme operates in the Niger Delta region and aims to inspire, encourage and support young people aged 18-35 to start up their own businesses through the provision of finance and training for young entrepreneurs.

2014 Shell LiveWIRE Nigeria Programme

The objectives for the LiveWIRE Programme in Nigeria ore to:

• Enable youths to establish businesses through provision of business planning and management guidelines and skills through the Become a Successful Owner Manager Course.
• Run awards for candidates with the best business plans. The award provides access to micro-credit facilities, through third parties like banks, NGOs and allied financial institutions.
• Provide a volunteer monitoring programme for those who have completed the training course and decide to pursue starting their own business.

Programme content

• Bright Ideas and Become a Successful Business Owner Manager workshops
• Business Awareness Forum
• Young Business Leaders Awards
• Business Information and Enquiry Service

Applications are invited from

• Male and female applicants from Rivers, Bayelsa and Delta states aged between 18-35years
• Must possess a University degree or HND
• Must be resident in state of application

MTN Scholarship: MTN Nigeria Foundation Scholarship 2014 Application Open

MTN Nigeria Foundation University and Polytechnic Undergraduate Scholarships 2014. The MTN Nigeria Foundation will provide financial support to eligible Science & Technology students in accredited educational public universities, polytechnics and colleges of education across the six geo-political zones in Nigeria which will cover tuition, book allowance and stipend (pocket allowance).

MTN SCHOLARSHIP TERMS AND CONDITION:
Please read carefully before completing this form. Be sure that the information you provide is accurate.

Applicants from public Universities and Colleges of Education in Nigeria must be full time undergraduates in 200 level/2nd year.
Applicants from public Universities and Colleges of Education must have a minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) score of 3.5 or its equivalent (2:1)
Applicants from public Polytechnics must have a minimum Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.0 (upper credit) from the Ordinary National Diploma (OND) programme and must have secured admission into the Higher National Diploma programme (HND).
Direct entry level students must have a minimum Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.0 (upper credit) from the OND programme and must have secured admission into 200 level/2nd year in a public University
Current Beneficiaries of the MTN Foundation Science & Technology Scholarship award are not eligible to apply
The MTN Foundation reserves the right to cancel or suspend a scholarship award if it is discovered that an applicant /awardee provided false information.

DEADLINE
Names of successful candidates will be published in National Dailies
Closing date for receipt of application is Tuesday May 4th 2014
